As the Virtual Scholarship Fair gets closer and closer, it’s time for us to let you know about the communication platform we’re using: Discord.
Discord is a software and application that allows you to communicate via instant messaging, VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), and video calls. You can install this to your computer or portable devices for free. As with most communication platforms, it is necessary for you to create an account using your email to be able to use the features on Discord. Your email will not be revealed to the public when you are using the platform.
Scholarships2u has opted to utilize Discord as a platform for communicating during the Virtual Scholarship Fair as it allows you to talk to multiple institutions at the same time, even during a video call. Compared to Zoom, where messages cannot be exchanged after the room is closed, you will still be able to get your questions answered after you have gone offline.
You will be able to access the link to Discord from our event page when there is a representative present in the booth. If there is no Discord link to the booth, that means that a representative is currently unavailable. You will still be able to drop a message via our messaging system and they will send you a reply as soon as possible. Please ensure that you are signed in to your Scholarship2u account to avoid being prompted to log in.
